Experienced Illustrator / Paint by Numbers Designer

We are looking for a highly experienced Illustrator / Graphic Designer to create professional Paint by Numbers (Malen nach Zahlen) designs from existing artwork and images.

This is a long-term opportunity with regular projects.

Your Responsibilities

You will receive finished images, illustrations, or artworks from us and transform them into production-ready Paint by Numbers designs.

Your tasks include:

• Converting images and illustrations into high-quality Paint by Numbers templates
• Using different software, AI tools, vector tools, and other techniques to achieve the best possible result
• Reducing complex images to approximately 30–40 paint colors
• Creating clean, clearly separated painting areas
• Correcting errors created during automatic image conversion
• Manually improving problematic areas
• Removing unnecessary tiny areas that would be difficult to paint
• Simplifying overly complex sections without destroying important details
• Making sure important objects, faces, outlines, shadows, and details remain recognizable
• Checking the complete design for inconsistencies and production errors
• Preparing the final files according to our production specifications

What We Are Looking For

You should have strong professional experience in illustration and image editing.

Experience with Paint by Numbers production is a major advantage.

You should:

• Have excellent Adobe Illustrator and/or Photoshop skills
• Be comfortable working with vector graphics
• Have a very good understanding of colors, shapes, outlines, and image composition
• Know how to simplify an illustration while maintaining its visual quality
• Be able to identify and manually correct errors instead of relying only on automatic software
• Be experienced with AI-assisted and automated image-processing tools
• Have a strong eye for small details
• Work independently and reliably

Important: We are NOT looking for someone who simply uploads an image into automatic Paint by Numbers software and exports the result.

The automatic conversion is only the starting point. We expect every design to be professionally reviewed, corrected, optimized, and prepared manually until it meets our quality standards.
